Accessibility Statement
We want everyone to be able to use palomadoorsgates.com, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom or other assistive technology. Updated October 13, 2026.
Our target
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines describe how to make web content usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness, limited movement and cognitive differences.
What we have done
- Every page has a clear heading structure, a “Skip to main content” link and landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer.
- The site can be used with a keyboard alone; links, buttons, the phone menu and the question-and-answer sections show a visible focus outline.
- Text and background colors meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, including text on buttons.
- Every photo has a text description of what it shows; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields have visible labels; missing or invalid answers are explained in words, not color alone, and are announced to screen readers.
- The interactive tools announce their results to screen readers and say what to do if JavaScript is not available.
- Tables have captions and headers, and on small screens they rearrange so nothing has to be read sideways.
- Pages work at 200% zoom and on screens from small phones to wide monitors, and nothing on the site moves or flashes.
How we test it
Before every update goes live, each page is checked automatically: Lighthouse accessibility audits at phone and desktop size, HTML validation with accessibility rules, and a browser test that opens the phone menu, fills in the forms and uses the tools. We also review the pages by eye at phone and desktop sizes. Automated tests cannot catch everything, so we welcome reports from the people who use the site.
Known limits
The schematic service area map is a simplified drawing; the same information is on the service area page as a table and a ZIP code checker. The photos show gates and equipment; their descriptions say what is visible but cannot replace a visit to see a gate in person.
