Gate Services

Everything Paloma Gate Services does, in one place: new gates, repairs, and the openers and access systems that run them, for homeowners and for the people who look after community and business gates.

What we do

Since 2008 we have worked on gates across Bonita Springs and the communities around it: driveway gates at single-family homes, pedestrian gates around pools and yards, and the entrance gates of HOAs, condo communities and businesses. Some are manual and some are automatic; some are brand new and some are older swing gates that have been through several hurricane seasons.

The work falls into three service lines, below. Most jobs touch more than one of them: a new gate usually comes with an opener, and many repair calls turn out to be about the access system rather than the gate itself.

Homes, or communities and businesses?

The gates are often similar; the way they are used is not. A driveway gate opens a few times a day for one family. A community entrance can open and close all day long for residents, guests and delivery drivers, and the board or manager behind it needs it to simply keep working.

Residential gates

Swing, slide and estate-style driveway gates, entry gates and pool or yard gates; HOA approval, power at the gate, and what to sort out before the install day.

Choosing a material?

Aluminum, iron, steel, wood or vinyl

Near the Gulf, the material decides how much upkeep a gate needs more than anything else. Aluminum shrugs off salt air, iron and steel need their coating kept intact, wood needs sealing, and vinyl can chalk in strong sun. Our comparison page puts cost level, coastal durability, maintenance and lifespan side by side.

What a service call includes

Whether you called about a squeak or a dead opener, a visit follows the same pattern, so you know what you are paying for and what was done.

  • Your account first. What the gate does, when it started, and whether a storm, a power cut or a bump came before it.
  • A look at the whole system. Gate, hinges or rollers, posts, operator, control board, photo eyes, keypad and remotes, power and battery backup.
  • A plain explanation and the price before we start on the repair, with the option to fix only what is needed now.
  • The repair, with the old parts shown to you if you want to see them.
  • Full test cycles, including the safety reversal, and a walk through the manual release so you can free the gate yourself in a power cut.

Guides for gate owners

Three pages we point people to before a project or between visits.

  • Gate Materials & Options: Aluminum, wrought iron, steel, wood and vinyl side by side for salt air, sun and storms, plus every gate type.
  • Seasonal Gate Maintenance: What wet season, hurricane season, salt air and a summer away do to a gate, and the checks that prevent it.
  • Our Process & Standards: How a visit, an estimate and the work go, and the safety standards an automatic gate has to meet.

Questions about service calls

What happens on a service call?

We start with what you have noticed and when it started, then look at the whole gate, not just the part that stopped: the leaves or panel, hinges or rollers, posts, the operator and its control board, the safety sensors, the keypad and remotes, and the power and backup battery. We explain what we found in plain words and give you the price before we start on the repair.

Will the gate be fixed on the first visit?

Often, yes. Hinges, rollers, photo eyes, remotes, keypads and many control-board problems can be dealt with on the spot when we have the part with us, which is why a photo of the operator's label helps before we come. If a part has to be ordered, we make the gate safe and usable in the meantime where we can, and tell you when we will be back.

Do you check the safety features too?

Every time. An automatic gate is a heavy moving object, so after any repair we run full open and close cycles and test that the gate stops and reverses when the photo-eye beam is broken or an edge is touched. If a safety device is missing or has been bypassed, we tell you and explain what fixing it involves.

Is there a charge to come out?

We tell you how the visit is priced when you call, before anyone gets in the truck. Declan is upfront about cost and would rather explain it on the phone than surprise you at the gate.

Gate acting up, or planning a new one?

Call Declan or send a request. We look at what the gate needs, tell you the price before any work starts, and set a time that suits you.
